Vultr

High-performance cloud compute worldwide.

  1. What you get with Vultr

  3. Good to know

Vultr's pitch is reach: high-performance compute in more than 30 locations across six continents, from the usual US and European hubs to cities like São Paulo, Johannesburg, Mumbai and Seoul that most clouds skip. If your audience isn't in Virginia or Frankfurt, Vultr probably has a datacenter near them. Add your Vultr API key and Rocketeers provisions and manages servers there like anywhere else — fully configured, no manual setup.

What you get with Vultr

  • Cloud compute in 30+ locations worldwide, including regions underserved by the bigger clouds.
  • NVMe SSD storage as standard, with High Frequency and dedicated-CPU plans when you need extra headroom.
  • Straightforward hourly pricing billed to your own Vultr account.
  • Hands-off provisioning: firewall, web server, PHP and database configured by Rocketeers.
  • Servers you can still see and manage in the Vultr customer portal at any time.

How the integration works

Enable the API in your Vultr account settings and add your personal API key to Rocketeers. Vultr lets you restrict API access to specific IP addresses, which pairs well with a managed platform. Once connected, Rocketeers uses the Vultr API to deploy the instance in your chosen location, set up SSH access and firewall rules, and install a production-ready stack. It then keeps the server updated and deploys your sites onto it.

Good to know

  • Instances bill hourly up to a monthly cap, so experimenting with locations is cheap.
  • Vultr's API supports IP-based access control — if you enable it, remember to allow the addresses that will be making the calls.
  • Plan availability varies by location; smaller datacenters may not stock every High Frequency or dedicated option.
  • Bandwidth allowances are included per instance and vary by plan and region, so check the numbers if you serve a lot of media.
